Assisting The Victims Of The Bastrop Fire

The team at FFF would like to use the FFF Olympics park rental as a way to help generate supplies and support for the fire victims of Bastrop and surrounding communities. The FFF Olympics are a free event, but as a suggested donation, we would really appreciate you bringing one/some of the following items in good condition:

More Fun Down At The Shore! Plus New Bands Announced

Fun Fun Fun Fest announced today some new additions to this years festival lineup, including SPOON, Black Lips, Cannibal Corpse, Omar Souleyman, Sergio Sexy Sax Man Flores and more!

SPOON are returning after headlining the inaugural FFF fest in 2006, which also happens to be their only date, in U.S. or Europe, in 2011. They are performing along with punk and garage kings, the Black Lips, American death metal band Cannibal Corpse, Syrian pop sensation Omar Souleyman, and more. These late additions join previously announced headlining acts such as Passion Pit, Slayer, Public Enemy, The Damned, Hot Snakes (reunion), Hum, and Danzig Legacy Tour. And, as a special treat the guys at Fun Fun Fun Fest are bringing in Sergio Sexy Sax Man Flores, whom you may remember from his sexy sax serenades in shopping malls on YouTube (currently @ over 8MM views) to sax up the crowd between sets.

Some new additions have also been added to this years yellow stage, including the Air Sex Competition, Dating Game, New Movement Comedy, Rap Battle Royal, Master Pancakes Video Jukebox, Brett Gelman, Adira Amram, Johnny Pemberton, Cameron Buchholt, Jake Flores, and Doug Mellard. The new acts join already the already announced Henry Rollins, Reggie Watts, Brian Posehn, Upright Citizens Brigade, Turquoise Jeep and more.

FFF is also proud to announce the first ever Fun Fun Fun Fest Water Olympics, which will take place in Austin at Fiesta Gardens on September 11th. Contests will include stand up paddle board jousting, freestyle, and high kick competitions, as well as canoe jousting, a canoe and SUP relay race and a friendly game of tug of war with Waterloo vs Auditorium Shores teams. Registration starts at noon, and the event goes from 2 6pm. Austin Facial Hair Club will be providing the food, security, and grooming tips.

The festival will also hold the annual Austin scavenger hunts, which sends music fans on a mad dash around town marking bizarre and sometimes filthy deeds off their target lists in an effort to win passes and other Fun Fun Fun gear. With the New Move the Fest Will Grow in Size and Capabilities

Austin, Texas (April 28, 2011) Fun Fun Fun Fest, one of the premier independent music festivals in the country, announced today that they will be moving from their Waterloo Park location of 5 years to Auditorium Shores this year to accommodate the growing size and popularity of the event.

Founded in 2006 by Graham Williams, Fun Fun Fun Fest has been known for its consistent commitment to discovering new talent and unearthing new ideas in music and comedy, while also working to pay homage to key legends in the independent music scene. The 6th Annual Fun Fun Fun Fest will take place Nov. 5 6, this year at Austins Auditorium Shores. There will also be a festival kick off event on Friday November 4th.

In addition to the progressive and seminal underground acts the festival is known for, promoters plan to diversify the lineup this year with new genres and performers as well as introducing new on-site activities, comedy, food, shopping, and more.

As a 10 year resident of the Bouldin Creek neighborhood, a former board member of the Long Center, and a founding member of AMP, James Moody has been working with Parks, the City of Austin, AMP, The Long Center, the Palmer Events Center, and other stakeholders to help make this exciting addition a smooth transition for all involved.

We are looking forward to this move. says James Moody, partner at FFFF. s the right time for us. After maxing out Waterloo Park last year, we realized we needed more space to deliver on some of our new ideas and offer our fans what they expect.

Graham Williams said I am very excited about this. With more room and better access, we can do some of things that we could never do at Waterloo. We have been able to get more creative with bookings, production, layout, and vendors. I look forward to watching it all come together.

Descendents Unite to Headline Fun Fun Fun Fest 2010

Austin, Texas (October 29, 2010) Fun Fun Fun Fest is proud to announce the addition of The Legendary Descendents to the lineup of the 5th annual music and comedy event in Waterloo Park November 5-7, 2010.

The reunion show of this elusive and world renowned pop punk act will replace the Sunday headlining spot previously held by Devo.

The Descendents performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest this year marks their first with the full band in almost a decade.

The Descendents will be joined by the late additions of Nacional Records Nortec Collective Presents Bostich + Fussible; the melodic and chill-wave sounds of Washed Out; the subdued indie sounds of The Antlers; and the indie break out band, Cults.

I really cant believe it. The Descendents were one of those bands on my dream list that I thought I would never get to book Says Graham Williams, FFF Founder. A week ago, we had no idea what we were going to do, and now we couldnt be more happy.

DEVO FORCED TO POSTPONE UPCOMING TOUR DATES DUE TO SERIOUS HAND INJURY SUSTAINED BY GUITARIST BOB MOTHERSBAUGH

LIVE DATES FOR 2010 POSTPONED UNTILL SPRING 2011

October 26, 2010 (Burbank, CA) DEVO deeply regret that they have had to postpone all of their upcoming live dates for 2010 due to a serious hand injury sustained by guitarist Bob Mothersbaugh. A glass shard sliced Mothersbaughs right thumb to the bone, severing a tendon. He underwent immediate emergency surgery and is expected to make a full recovery after proper care and therapy.

Most of DEVOs upcoming November tour dates, including Solana Beachs Belly Up, Los Angeles Club Nokia, and San Franciscos Warfield Theater, will be rescheduled for next spring and the public will be informed once new dates have been confirmed.

Who will step up and fill the slot?

We are working with a number of different bands that are excited to step in and fill the headliner slot on Sunday.

We hope to share more on this next week.

Our focus right now is on blowing minds.

Were just weeks away from this years Fun Fun Fun Fest, which can only mean one thing -- the time is ripe for the annual Fun Fest Scavenger Hunt!

The head honchos at Transmission Entertainment are meticulously crafting this years to-do-list even as I type. Rest assured it will be ready for the masses at 6 p.m. this evening.

There are some truly fabulous goodies up for grabs this year, including of course, free passes to the festival itself.

But, just like the first time we saw 'white & nerdy', this has created a bunch of questions. So I will do my best to answer a few of them here. Just remember, the Fun Fun Fun Fest dudes don't have big corporate offices. We do have a van. But, we are here working on stuff every single day, things constantly change, get more fun and interesting, and we areto you, whether you think we are or are not. Give us some time, and all will be clear. Let the moon of endor be your guide.

So, here are some factoids that may help you:

FFF 2010 November 5, 6, 7: Most killer line up ever. Day 1 is a 5-10 kick off, Day 2 is 12-10, Day 3 is 12-10.

Currently we are selling one ticket only: EARLY BIRD 3 DAY PASS

EARLY BIRD 3 DAY PASSES FOR $94.50 (how does that break down?)

2 DAY PASS is $75. WEIRD AL KICK OFF is $35. TOTAL is $110, EB DISCOUNT is $94.50

The Fun2 ticket is a whopper. This year you get the kickoff party on Friday evening, then full day passes for both Saturday and Sunday.

By now you know the linue for this year's Fun Fun Fun Fest, and you're already planning your schedule. Once again, the festivities kick off on Friday night at the Mohawk and Club Deville, where Austinist hosts our annual Local Music Is Sexy party and the After the Jump Blogger's Panel along with the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening, Maura Johnston (Idolator), Justin Gage (Aquarium Drunkard), Peter Gaston (SPIN), David Prince (Billboard, Daily Swarm), Joe Gross (Austin American-Statesman) and Paige Maguire (Austinist, WOXY) will be discussing the ever-thinning line between new media and the mainstream. There will be a question period and cocktails after the panel.

Local Music Is Sexy begins promptly at 8 p.m., and this year's lineup is our best yet. Air Traffic Controllers, Distant Seconds, the Low Lows, TV Torso, Black Before Red, Silent Land Time Machine, Manikin, The Authors, Watch Out for Rockets and International Waters will all perform, and there will be a special presentation by the Minor Mishap Marching Band. Austin Kleon will also be on hand, drawing our party from the upper deck.

As always, the event serves as an early-bird credential pick-up for folks covering the festival. Show up and get your wristbands Friday night to save yourself from long lines on Saturday morning at the park.

Hello all,
Its definitely been a trying few days. On the night of Saturday October 17th, while riding his bike home, a car hit Ian Mcdougall, guitarist of our band Riverboat Gamblers. He sustained some pretty heavy injuries including a broken hip, a broken wrist and hemmoraging under the skull along with many lacerations, torn ligaments, bruises and and scrapes.
He was rushed by ambulance to Brackenridge hospital in Austin and stayed in the ICU for 2 days before being moved into his own room where he is undergoing physical therapy while awaiting the results on X-rays and MRIs as well as a deluge of other various tests.
That being said, the prognosis is better than we had first thought. We are happy that he is going to be ok and that he is alive and with us. Unfortunately, not only is he in for a long recovery and is in a lot of pain, but he will be celebrating his birthday in bed with hospital food.
On another unfortunate note, there are a pile of bills currently gaining a Mt. Everest-like summit from all his hospital expenses. We set up a PayPal account and Tumblr site for our band mate and friend to try and help him get on top of the debt and focus on his recovery. WHO: Now in its fourth year, Fun Fun Fun Fest has made a significant impact on the countrys winter calendar, successfully combining the vast worlds of indie, punk, rap, electronica and comedy while showcasing some of the citys most unique local businesses. It is the most relaxed, laid back and (yet) progressive festival in the marketplace today, a true urban event in the middle of downtown Austin.

WHAT: In addition to Fun Fun Fun Fests outstanding musical line-up, the festival will also host an array of activities to keep fans busy between sets. Fans can check out the festivals mechanical bull, skate ramp, live screen-printing, photo booth, Flip cam interviews, API poster show, band merchandise and food and fashion from some of Austins favorite local businesses.

Fun Fun Fun Fest has partnered up with Under Pressure (www.handsonscreenshop.com) to give festival attendees what they deserve: an opportunity to design their own FFF T-shirt, hoodie, bandana, tank top, or anything else they can come up with. Under Pressure will also be selling a limited addition FFF poster print. The API poster show will highlight various accomplished poster artists from across the United States, who will present posters on Fun Fun Fun Fest artists and others.

Fun Fun Fun Fests skate ramp will be rolled out by Find N Grind Skate Shop, (www.myspace.com/findngrindsk8shop), one of Central Texas' finest skate shops and crews. This year, they will host a post-apocalyptic skate session with a custom "coffin extension" on the ramp, facing the black stage in honor of the great one, Glenn Danzig.

Food and fashion will abound, as some of Austins favorite local businesses set up shop on festival grounds, including: Frank, Woodland, Spanish Village, Rubys BBQ, Snowie, Parlour Pizza, Mambo Berry, Tiffs Treats, Boomerangs Pies, Zen, Austin Cornucopia, Prototype, Birds Barbershop, Toy Joy, Big Rig Vintage and Shyana Gifts (glass pipes). Austin non-profit organizations the SIMS Foundation and Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) will also be on hand at FFF to raise awareness of their causes benefiting local musicians.
