In 2010, the revered Damien Jurado released his ninth album, Saint Bartlett, to laudatory praises from both fans and critics. In keeping with the undeniable chemistry he shares with Richard Swift, the two recorded a collection of covers, Other People's Songs, which is still available to stream and download for free here. NPR called their rendition of Bill Fay's "Be Not So Fearful" the best cover song of the year. 2011 finds Jurado in the studio once again with Swift, working on his tenth full length record. Details on release and contents to follow, but Swift has distinctly said this album is a departure from previous works. Touring will be minimal as he focuses on this next record and his son, but it has been a busy year for him already. High hometown praise was issued by Andrew Matson of the Seattle Times in March as he dubbed Jurado "Seattle's folk-boom godfather."
