Soul Khan breaks the stereotypical mold of an MC. His distinct voice reminds you of an MC from the glory days of music. You find yourself hanging on every lyric of his songs. He’s an music artist who happens to be good at MC battling. He started rapping during his junior high school years and dabbled in the underground rap battles. It wasn't until November 2008 when Soul Khan started taking his rap battles and career in music seriously. He moved to Brooklyn, New York, got a job at Fat Beats and joined the underground hip hop group Brown Bag Allstars. From 2008 to 2010, Soul Khan amassed a large fan following as he quickly become one of the best battle rappers in the Grindtime, Smack URL, and King of the Dot leagues. His battles have amassed over 6 million combined views on YouTube and growing exponentially every day. He has become globally recognized for his intense battles in which he demolishes his opponents. During the Fall of 2010, Soul Khan retired from the battle scene to focus on making music. He released a free digital album, Soul Like Khan in November 2010. The album was critically loved by sites such as 2Dopeboyz, Global Grind, Okayplayer and countless others. The album and its accompanying videos have gathered mentions from over 250 music blogs and websites. The album and its title track recently made it on the CMJ Hip Hop Charts where it remained for the month May 2011. The single currently sits in the Top 5 on both Rap Attack and Record Breakers college/DJ charts. His clip on MTV2’s Sucker Freestyle has garnered one of the most views on their website. Soul Khan recently released the Acknowledgement EP in April 2011. This EP is the first of a four part series that will be released throughout the summer and fall of 2011. It used to be that thousands of new fans only discovered Soul Khan every day from his legendary MC battles. Now fans are discovering him by the music he continues to create.
