Sacramento’s Trash Talk, hardcore’s new reigning kings formed in late 2005 when front man Lee Spielman teamed up with guitarist Garrett Stevenson. After adding bassist Spencer Pollard, and drummer Sam Bosson the punk outfit was completed. Trash Talk first earned their stripes after fans and bloggers alike bore witness to their raucous live shows— thrashing and thunderous sets that left ears bruised and broken, but smiles stretching from ear to ear. After extensive touring around the world, Trash Talk went on to launch their own record label, Trash Talk Collective in 2008. With the assistance of Chicago-based audio engineer Steve Albini, the band released their first full-length record, a self-titled effort on the TTC imprint. In 2009, the quartet collaborated with legendary Circle Jerks front man Keith Morris to release the vinyl single, East of Eden. Having also issued the anthology Shame (featuring three sold out EPs and their sold out debut self-titled album) via TTC, along with a paperback book titled Collective: Volume One. Trash Talk is showing no sign of slowing down. Their highly anticipated new album “Eyes & Nines” just dropped digitally on May 18th and is slated for a physical release on June 8th. “Eyes & Nines” is produced by Joby Ford (The Bronx) and boasts appearances from Greg Hetson (Circle Jerks, Bad Religion) and Matt Caughthran (The Bronx/Maricahi El Bronx) .It will transport you back to hardcore’s early days by smacking you in the face with muscular punk riffs and riotous venom. If you haven’t heard of Trash Talk yet, you should.
