Last.fm to Launch Radio Stations
And you thought Last.fm was just a democratic, user-generated scrobbling service that kept track of what you and your friends listen to. Well, it is. But pretty soon, it'll also be a radio station.
Billboard reports that Last.fm is getting set to launch actual terrestrial broadcast radio stations in four of the biggest markets in the U.S.: Billboard says, "Starting Oct. 5, the Last.fm station will be multicast on CBS's high-definition radio channels in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco-as well as streamed on CBS Radio's website-as a programmed channel."

But what kind of music will it play, I wonder? Traditional radio is dying as it is so it makes sense that it will only be a HD station but how may people have HD radios? I want an internet radio so I can stream certain stations in my car but I generally just listen to cds anyway.
