Small Children?
My sons will be 5 and 6 by the time FFFFest rolls around this year. They really want to see DEVO and love experiencing live music. I was just wondering if anyone here has taken small children to FFFFest before and if so, what was your experience like?

I haven't taken my kids (6 and 8, at the moment), but, to echo the other two comments, the last 2 FFFs I've seen other kids of all ages there, and I bet so long as you don't stray to the front of the black stage mid-song, you'll all have a good time. :)

Thanks for the feedback, ladies! My little troopers have attended quite a few shows but no festivals, to date. The hubby and I were talking about making this a yearly family outting depending on how well they tough it out. I hope we get to look back in a few years and say the same. The good thing is, if they can't tough it out, we have a lot of local family for them to stay with.

I've seen kids there too. Well, smaller kids. I think this is a great festival for that. Not too hot. Not too rowdy. Plenty of places where you can sit and see without being in a mosh pit.
FWIW - I've been taking my son every year - this will be our 4th year. He's 16, so yeah, he's older. I also usually drive his friends (since I'm the young parent that's going anyway) and let the teenagers crash at our house. Maybe we're not your "typical" family, but this is one of my fave family events every year.

I've been taking my kids since the very first FFF. They'll be 14 & 17 by the time this year's rolls around, so I guess that means they were 9 &12 then. They loved it & have never been a problem. I have friends with younger ones who've gone & had a blast. I've even seen babies & toddlers there (which would drive me crazy as a parent, but to each their own!).
I say, if you wouldn't mind having them along & think that they won't complain about the long days or anything like that... go for it! And I'm pretty sure the 5 yr old gets in FREE! I absolutely LOVE sharing this with my kids every year.
