My Anticipated Friday Schedule
After much thinking, I believe that I (finally) have Friday mostly pinned down. I'm sure that this still has the potential based on spur-of-the-moment decisions, mood changes, etc but this appears to be the plan that I'm going with:
12P-12:30P -- Not in the Face (Orange) : I debated checking out Tia Carrera in this spot cuz I loves me some stoner rock but there's something about NITF's ramshackle country/punk/blues/Springsteen-on-meth vibe that I really dig. Seems like a good way to jumpstart a long day.
12:30P-1P -- Burning Love (Black) : Another no-brainer. I dig BL's approach to hardcore, whereas I don't care for either Yellow Ostrich or Orthy.
1:05P-1:40P -- FIDLAR vs The Jezebels (Black vs Orange) : my first of many conflicts at the festival. I really want to see both bands but I'm thinking that the Jezebels (being Aussies) will be harder to see in the future. I'm leaning towards The Jezebels, especially if I can make it to FIDLAR's Nites set.
1:45P-2:30P -- Kvelertak vs Dum Dum Girls (Black vs Orange) : another hard conflict. I'm actually a bigger Dum Dum Girls fan but I'm super-curious about Kvelertak and expect them to put on a great show. This will really be based on how I feel at that particular moment.
2:35P-3P -- Cursive vs Nick Waterhouse (Orange vs Blue) : I really like Cursive but I'm leaning towards Nick W for this one. How long I stay at either will be determined by whether or not I catch the Dwarves the Nite before. If I see them then, I'll skip their daytime set. If not, I'll bail on Cursive/Nick W for the Dwarves at 3P. Regardless, I'm seeing the Dwarves at F3F this year.
3:20P-4P -- Diamond Rings (Blue) : I'f I don't check out the Dwarves, I'll definitely be hitting up all of Diamond Rings set. I debated catching Municipal Waste but I've seen them a few times in the past and have never seen DR. Looking forward to this set.
4:05P-5P -- Jon Benjamin vs Napalm Death (Yellow vs Black) : a really hard conflict for me. I really, really want to see Jon Benjamin but I also really, really want to see Napalm Death. I've never seen either one, which makes the decision even more difficult. Regardless, the next part is easy...
5:05P-5:55P -- Bob Mould (Orange) : absolutely nothing will drag me from Bob's slot at the Orange stage on Friday. I feel bad about missing Converge but, with any luck, I'll still be able to catch the last few minutes of their set.
6:10P-7P -- Tomahawk (Black) : another given: I will not be anywhere else but front and center at Black when Patton and the gang bring their merry sideshow to the SHores.
7:05P-7:55P -- Against Me! vs Superchunk vs Earth (Black vs Orange vs Yellow) : providing nothing happens, I'll be seeing Superchunk on Thursday Nite, so no need to stress about this conflict. If I can see Earth on Halloween in AZ, that removes the conflict completely. I've seen AM! several times in the past, but they've been playing a lot of new songs lately and must admit to being curious about seeing Laura Jane Grace for the first "official" time.
8P-8:40ishP -- X (Black) : There's no way I'll miss X performing "Los Angeles." I would prefer not to miss the rest of their set, but I figure I'd be a chump not to catch Run-D.M.C. while I still can.
8:40P-9:50P -- Run-D.M.C. (Orange) : the Kings of Rock! I'm a tad disappointed that Dillon Francis is playing at the same time but there's no way I'd miss Run-D.M.C. Only question will be whether I still to the bitter end or hightail it early to make it to Nites...
Nites shows -- Mohawk (Inside/Outside) : looks like I'll be at the Mohawk all-Nite on Friday. The FIDLAR/Seaweed/Surfer Blood show is a given, but I'm also keen on checking out the Cheap Curls/SISU show inside. I wish I could catch Pujol at Club Deville, but that's smack in the middle of FIDLAR/Seaweed. Don't think I'll be catching any other shows that evening.

Our paths might cross FIDLAR, Jon Benjamin, Against Me! or Run-D.M.C. although I have made the decision to duck out a but early of RUN to catch the full Nites show at the Mohawk since I will not get to see Seaweed or Surfer Blood at the fest.
