The "Joys" of Moving

Well, we just signed off on our new place, so we now must begin the obnoxious process of packing everything up. The worst thing about the whole process is that I'm actually very happy where we're currently at: the landlord is easy-going, the street is filled with lots of friendly kitties (as a cat fanatic, this is actually a big selling point for me) and I have easy access to work. The new place is 200 sq ft smaller, on a crappy street with no kitties and is about twenty minutes further away from work: I won't be able to walk to work anymore, even if I want to.

The only plus, period, is that the new place is about $450 cheaper than our current place. Since I'll also be quitting smoking after this year's F3F, that will add another $200/month to our finances. Since I'll need to start paying $300 student loan bills soon, this was the only way we could stay afloat.

Nonetheless, I couldn't be less excited about moving. We're also currently in a dispute with our landlord, for the first time in three years or so. I'm guessing we won't get much of our security deposit back...

Thanks, amigo! This has actually been my fourth (or fifth?) time quitting since I first started smoking about 13 years ago. The first time I quit, I was actually done for about a year and a half before I relapsed. Every time after that has usually been between a month-three months. The first time was cold turkey, too, whereas I've tried the patch every other time. I'll begin my non-smoking right when I enter the airport at Austin, on my way back, so I'm hoping to get the detox going by the get back to AZ. I'll definitely hit ya up on here for some moral support, though!

Never fun dude, never. I'm quitting smoking after the fest too. So hit me up on here if you need support. It's a bitch. I've "quit" several times now and can never seem to get past the 3 month hump. Here's to hoping for our success.
