New Deftones Album Streaming
Looks like the new Deftones album, "Koi No Yokan," is currently streaming via Rollingstone. Here's the link:

Four songs in so far and I have to be honest: I absolutely love it! It immediately reminds me of "Around the Fur," my favorite Deftones album of all time. It's super-aggressive and heavy, yet retains the spacey, open-vibe that recent Deftones albums have (sometimes) over-indulged in. The songwriting is very strong and Chino's performance is particularly feral. All in all, what can I say? If you already like the Deftones, this will probably end up being one of your favorite albums of the year. If you don't, well...I'm not sure that anything here will change your mind. Definitely one for the fans but, for my money, the strongest Deftones platter in 15 years.

I think that having Chi out of commission took a bigger toll on the band than they've been letting on. This one definitely sounds closer to their earlier material than their later material (to my ears, at least). They're never gonna go back to the "Adrenaline" stuff but, to be honest, I don't think I'd want 'em too. "Around the Fur" is such a perfect album and it definitely leap-frogged right over the debut.

Just finished the album. Damn...it is one impressive hunk of molten rock! Not a bad song in the bunch and some of them are (perhaps) the best songs the Deftones have recorded. Definitely going to buy this sucker when it comes out!

Should be an awesome show! The AZ stop sold out before I could get tickets. Kinda bummed but I've still got Rush and Megadeth coming up, so I shouldn't complain too much!
