Live Music Desert

I live in a place where live music has died. There use to be an even changing list of indie bands who would stop by this medium-sized Texas town. As the years have passed since the death of KTXT the list of bands has dwindled to only a shadow of itself.

I remember the glory days of seeing Bongos Bass and Bob singing the "Thorazine Shuffle" at Kluzoz's or the Mountain Goats at space 1110. With the death of the college radio station came the death of a fairly vibrant live music scene.

I now have to to travel and find what I am searching for. Last week was Mogwai in ABQ and that show killed.

I applaud events like FunFunFun for giving me an escape from the live music desert.

Side Note: Any jobs available in Austin? lol

I say move where the culture moves you! I couldn't imagine having to drive hours everytime I wanted to see a live show. That would suck. Good luck to you!
