I had a weekend of driving across the Midwest and visiting some friends. Here are the places that I enjoyed that might be worth checking out.
Kansas City
Arthur Bryant's
Oklahoma Joe's
Tulsa
The Max
Dustbowl
Ok I have now finished listening to the two albums from my previous blog post.
Purity Ring â?? â??Shrinesâ?? â?? This album is basically the ep with some additional tracks. I pretty much like this album all the way through. I loved this band last year at FFF6 and managed to catch them twice.
Passion Pit â?? â??Gossamerâ?? - I think I am done with Passion Pitâ??s shtick. This album was more annoying than enjoyable that being said I really enjoyed â??Mannersâ??. I think in small doses this could be good but right now I canâ??t really enjoy it.

I do like the Purity Ring, but it almost seems like too much of a good thing. Perhaps a little more variety may have silenced my qualms about the album but I'm not sure. I definitely liked it a lot better than the Passion Pit.

Yeah I might be riding out the Purity Ring high from last year.

I listened to the new Passion Pit and Purity Ring albums today and tend to agree with you, Slyd. I'm not a huge Passion Pit fan but there wasn't really anything on the new one that connected with me at all: it pretty much stayed background music for 45 minutes. There were a few moments that I found annoying but, then again, the last Passion Pit did that for me, too. Something about them is just too cutesy-wutsy. I did like the Purity Ring but, to be honest, it started to feel a little samey by about the midpoint. If it had been any longer, I don't think I would have cared for it as much.

I just read that Passion Pit cancelled their July tour dates so that the frontman could "work on his mental health." That don't sound too promising.
