tips for a noob?
This will be my first FFFFest, and I'm so freaking excited! Question for you veterans... what would you suggest a newbie like me do to get the most out of the weekend? Lots of water? Bring a chair? Wear a sign that says "kick me?"

I'm thinking about bringing one of these bad boys. The only time I could imagine using this waiting in line for beer though.

haha i agree with seans response. Get that beer buzz early and try to maintain it. That's what i've done in the past.

theres no use for chairs, more than likely you will be running around all over the place. At least that has been my experiences. Yea plenty of water is always a good idea, especially if yer drinking. i'll usually drink some agua after about 2 brews. oh also stop drinking by the time subheadliners start playing, because you dont want to have to go to the bathroom when the main headliners play.

i completely disagree with the post below me. get way wasted, way early, but not too sloppy, and just maintain that throughout the night. as the evening progresses, the lines will get longer, and that buzz will be harder to maintain. i usually show up as the gates open, find a good spot close to the beer to chill (in the past that would be shaded spots, but now i dunno if there will be any), and keep an eye on your schedule!!! plan to spend lots of cash on booze and food, its pricey there. but you'll need it. make friends, figure out what teh aftershows are and locations, and make sure you don't die from too much fun.

I can't believe no one has commented on this yet. My advice is to get there early, well in years past you could get free parking not sure what's going down at the shore. My usual routine is wake up around 11 am to noon go to thundercloud nom on a sandwich (i get veggie delights with hummus yum!) and stop by and pick up some coffee. Drink tons of water even if it's not that hot out, you're out in the sun all day. Don't get too drunk too early no one likes that guy and you'll miss all the fun. Even though they schedule the big bands later in the day you should still check out the early bands they might not be big yet but they were good enough to be there so that must mean something. Have fun!
