Leeches of Lore
If you don't know about this band from Albuquerque, NM you need to check them out ASAP. Fronted by Steve Hammond, a friend of mine from my days in Lawrence, KS Leeches of Lore are an eclectic mix of punk, thrash, country and western, doom rock, surf, and, avant garde/experimental noise which make this an amazingly strange and engaging listen.
The self titled album is one of my favorite records to come out in the last 5 years or so. It should be listened to in one sitting from start to finish. I have not yet heard their newest album but will be purchasing it shortly. Steve Hammond has been making fantastic music for years and I want to see him get his dues so if you sample Leeches or Lore or any of his other music (Midget Whore, Filthy Jim, Black Ale Sinners, Solo work, etc.) and like please buy something to support independent music.
