Don't Hate on Passion Pit Y'all!!!

I'm guilty of it too, with blog/hipster/internet culture we completely devour media within weeks and then we spit it out, whip our dicks out and pee all over its remains. I feel like this has become the fate of Passion Pit. We all loved them at SXSW 2009, Chunk of Change was the fucking bomb-diggity, then Manners came out and your little sister was all about Sleepyhead and the moment was over. We disavowed any love we had for them and scoffed when people mentioned their name.

Well kids, don't give up yet. When they play FunFunFun Fest in November, they should be premiering new material. They've been in the studio over a year and they're alleged to have a new album due out in early 2012. If you think about it, you're probably more tired of the people who have grown to love Passion Pit than anything else. They still wrote some catchy fucking tunes that you'll be excited to dance to down at Auditorium Shores. Besides, how can you hate on a band that helped to put the PS 22 Chorus on the map?

What's your favorite Passion Pit song? Are you too cool to even admit to having ever liked them? I was always a fan of Better Things from Chunk of Change and The Seaweed Song from Manners.

Passion Pit have the unenviable task of playing opposite Public Enemy on the Orange stage, Friday night of FunFunFunFest 2011.

In theory, I'll show hop between all three of the headliners that night. However, I'll probably end up just watching the Danzig set.

I can't stand it when people stop listening to good artists because they become popular. Good for them, they're getting where they want to go.
