So. It's Friday. In Austin. Where I've just moved about a month or two ago and come to the conclusion that everyone here except for me is out seeing if they can out-burnt-orange everyone else or ::WORSE:: out-pink-nike-shorts-with-flip-flops everyone. Though I moved here in search of a Promised Land (I was told an epic legend of a town of friendly intellectuals who have similar taste in at least MUSIC if nothing else)... I haven't yet managed to see to the other side of the Sea of Orange under the everpresent sand cloud of the Reruns on their bikes that they can't slow down at red lights because the cool factor of having "no brakes, man" outweighs the risk of death. (Give Me Indie Or Give Me...)
---I realize I come off as a bitter cynical hag, which I promise I'm not. I'm very fun-loving and usually the hit of the party, WHEN the party ISNT a brew-crushing test of whose dick jizzes oranger or whose highlights are blonder.---
Is that all there is to Austin? This FFF fest and the other music festivals that take place here year round are the only concrete evidence that I have to the contrary. Please tell me there really IS a niche market somewhere. And WHERE. Until then, I'm going to stay home watching instant Netflix and trying to marry monks on Fable II.
