AFTERTHOUGHTS
There's hardly been enough time to slow down and write a proper post-fest blog, but here goes it. First, it was great catching up with so many familiar faces and meeting new faces. Mad props and shout outs to Inky, AM, Crystal, Lessthanamazing, Slyd, HiTimes, Mista PP, Mandystroyer, Phillip, PintO'Salsa, and many, many others that I know I'm forgetting at this moment. Already pumped for next year!
I know quite a few people fear FFF getting too big and turning into an ACL, or what have you, but I think the festival feel remained intact. My main excitement for the venue change was escaping the dust, that obviously did not happen. I hope there is mulch in our future to help with the dust problem. Not just for the festival goers, but for the artists. Aside from PrimaDanzig, I felt bad for all the artists who had to attempt to sing through sandpaper winds.
Overall, I was blown away by the niceties of everyone, the lineup, and amazing streak of luck that landed my husband & I with FREE PIP passes. My husband won the Slayer meet n' greet and, team Snake in the Grass, won the Dallas scavenger hunt. I am very grateful for the added surprise experiences, too. My husband got to be Dave Vanian for a day and I'm still reeling from rocking out with them on stage. Definitely a dream come true. I don't know if I'd actually spring for PIP, next year, due to the following observations/complaints, below.
Itemized Complaints:
Confusion surrounding promised swag items. (bags, towels, etc.)
Location of PIP viewing areas. (should be closer to stages or above sound booths)
Selection of alcoholic beverages and shortage. (I was stoked for Honest Tea, Red Bull, etc.)
Confusion surrounding food vendors. (exchange rate should be clearly stated)
Security for PIP entrance. (The guy for days 2 & 3 had a chip on his shoulder and overly frisked me, IMO, a man, security or not, should not have the right to touch a woman's private areas without permission. A lady guard should have been present.)
Here is a recap of bands I actually saw during the festival.

Awesome recap, J! It was see you again (and meeting your man)! I hear your complaints (particularly the security guard complaint; all fest areas that require a pat down need to have male and female security present). I was really glad to see the Auditorium shores change of venue still kept the FunFunFunFest feel, IMO (my cautious optimisim wins for once!).
Looking forward to FFF7!!!! :)
