Dad Rock
My dad was born in 1948. That said, by the time I was born in 1981, he was pretty much wrapped up listening to contemporary music. One band that he was particularly fond of usually engenders a lot of "blah" type responses back from my musically inclined friends: The Eagles.
I understand that response when you're talking about the stuff they've put post-90's reunion, but since I heard it all the time during childhood, I still dig the band. Say what you will, I have Stockholm Syndrome towards 'em. I can't help myself.
Anyway, this is why I bought tickets to see Joe Walsh in October this morning. And there's the added benefit of not hearing any Don Henley solo material. Just some good ol' classic rock.
Anybody else going?

I would have loved to see them in 70's.

Yeah, I found out about like a week and a half back. Was counting the days until payday so I could get tickets.
Pretty stoked. Been listening to the Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get all day long today.

I didn't know Joe was coming. I did catch the Eagles last year at ACL though.
