here come the good shows!
recently, i'd been complaining about how summer concert season in austin has been pretty lame so far. well finally this week, things are looking up! :) it's starting to come together, and it looks like i have a decent schedule so far. here's what i have tix (or am about to get tix) to:
centro-matic, sarah jaffe, 7/10, mohawk
gary clark, jr., 7/16, antone's
moonface, 7/26, emo's indoors (spencer krug of wolf parade/sunset rubdown's new project)
avi buffalo, 8/6, stubb's indoors

the dodos, 9/2, antone's - no date for when tix go on sale yet
bass drum of motherfucking death, japandroids, 9/8, mohawk
acl festival, 9/16-9/18, zilker- can't wait to see the aftershow schedule!
the horrors, 9/21, parish - tix on sale tomorrow, 6/16, 10 am
bass drum of death, toro y moi, 10/8, mohawk
friendly fires, 10/11, antone's - tix on sale friday, 6/17, 10 am
funfunfunfest, 11/5-11/6 (and hopefully some of the 4th, too?), auditorium shores - hoping for some good aftershows during this, too
i'm still looking for someone to go to gary clark and moonface with. i really dont dig on going to shows alone, but my woman is gonna be out of town for two weeks then, so i guess... if it's a choice between going out alone, or sitting at home alone, i'll prolly go out, fuck it.
other shows i'm still considering:

also lulz at myself, i thought deerhunter was playing, and then i looked again and saw it's actually, "the dearhunter". d'oh!
i got nothin else to talk about, just wanted to share my excitement about all the good shows finally being announced. godDAMN i love the summertime. if you're gonna be at any of these shows, and wanna meet up for a beer or whatever, hit me up!

@mistapp- aww thanks, i'm flattered! but i might be too much of a music snob to be the concert guru- i didn't mention white denim, 7/9, antones, just cause i didn't like the new album.
but i will tell you exactly what i do to find out about shows soon-ish after they are announced: pollstar, showlistaustin, c3, transmission, and frontgate email lists, and friending venues and bands i like on facepoop. i try to cover as many angles as possible, cause i HATE hearing about a great show, after it's already sold out.
