i'm finally getting a weekend off this month, and i can't wait to go see some good music. any beirut fans reading this? i just noticed last night that there are some tickets available now for the 10/29 show at stubbs- it had been sold out for the longest time. i'm really thinking about going!! i just don't know if i can swing it... i've already got zola jesus tickets, and i was planning on catching shonen knife (and hopefully some of shannon and the clams) at red 7 after. so now i gotta do that thing where you look at the doors/show times and try to figure out when everyone will play...

hmm... well beirut starts at 8, with one advertised opener. stubbs shows end early usually, so i'm thinking beirut will go on no later than 9-9:30, and be done by 10-10:30 (10:45 if they do a long encore?). zola jesus starts at the mohawk at 9 with xanopticon opening. there's also crystal antlers playing an indoor aftershow, doors at 11:30, starts at 12. so i'm thinking(hoping) zola won't actually start til 10:30-11, and finish around 11:45. then it's haul ass to red 7 and hope it's still rockin when i get there. show starts there at 9, but there are 4 bands. if they go on at 9/10/11/12, i'll make it for the last band. i think i can do this! :D

what's everyone else doin saturday night? it's not exactly halloween, but it's close!
