Suspiria and others

I finally saw it the other night and it was alright. Different from what I expected. I also watched Creepshow and was mostly disappointed. Not to say that horror/comedy/cheese isn't great but lately I'm in the mood for something a bit less Tales from the Crypt and a bit more Exorcist. Though I must say, the last movie for creepshow, with the roaches, completely grossed me out. I hate hate hate hate hate cockroaches. Blech. Next on the list, Hellraiser 1 (I've only seen parts of like the 5th movie on cable) and the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

I've seen Dead Alive and it was great! I'm just tired of seeing something marketed as primarily scary and being cheesy. I will look up that movie.

"Suspiria" is one of my all-time fave horror flicks. I love Dario Argento's movies. The first "Hellraiser" is pretty good. Most people I know that have seen it feel slimy afterwards. It has a definite mood of ickiness. You'd probably like "Dellamorte Dellamore" which was cut up and released in the US as "Cemetery Man." It's a horror/comedy but doesn't get terribly cheesy. If you want cheesiness that's tremendous watch Peter Jackson's "Braindead" [US title: "Dead Alive"]. It's amazing!
