Admit It...You Probably Owned The Album Too
So, as I was moving stuff around in my parents attic, I found a box with my old cassettes/cd's/etc. As I looked through the piles and piles of music that was essential to my adolescence, I found a copy of Blink-182's Dude Ranch.
Long story short, I have been playing it in my car all day. It has definitely been the high point of my day. Anyways, I know it might make look less cool, but I have to admit, I still remember all the words to the album. Yeahhhh...Anyways, enjoy "Dammit".
Enjoy?

I never owned a Blink 182 anything but i most def jammed to it when it came on the radio. I had to be selective on what I spent my money on those were the good ol' days of having an allowance and mowing the lawn for extra money.

i had it on a tape as well, but it was taped off the radio. you know... sitting by the radio, waiting to hear the first few notes from a song and then hitting the "record" button on the stereo.
then it sounds weird when you hear the song WITHOUT the witty DJ banter right before it starts.

oh blink... they're from my hometown, and yeah... the riff from "Dammit" was the first song i learned on guitar (either that or "Redemption Song", by Bob Marley).
sombrero DOES have good mexican food, which is one of the things that i miss most about California, now that I live in Texas. tried to get into Tex-Mex, but just can't dig it.

I was poor i couldn't afford cassettes or cd's. This was the time in my life when i listened to classic rock, because i could buy a crap-ton of records cheap! Anyways i wasn't really into blink-182, and they were uber popular in school so i heard this album probably way more than i wanted to....
Also the main riff to that one song (growing up?) was the first guitar riff all the kids learned. That and Nirvana's smells like teen spirit. Oh the 90's....

Never owned one Blink 182 album. I was more of a Judas Priest, Dio, Metallica, Slayer kind of guy.

Oh yeah, well A.F.I. used to be a punk band in the 90's also. And look at that trainwreck now. But I did own that album though.

"dude ranch" was one of the last good punk albums of the 90's, no joke. such catchy songs with great lyrics, i used to sing along allllll the time as a teenager, and it was one of the albums that stayed with me through my army tour.
"she laughs at my dumb jokes when no one does / she brings me mexican food from sombrero, just because.... yeah just because." :)

I loved that album, as well as Enema Of The State. I'm shameless in my like for Blink-182, because though I may not like ALOT of poppier "punk", I won't deny good catchy music. In fact, I'm buying the new album tomorrow. Suck it, Trebek!
