My FFF Experience
Saturday:
Woke up at 8am too excited to sleep in.
Met everyone at the Taco Shack! I was so happy there were so many people!
Saw a little of Jeff The Brotherhood- pretty good.
Saw a little of the Jacob Calle live stunt show - gross. He put a live scorpion the size of his hand inside of his mouth and stapled it shut. It started to crawl down his throat so he screamed and the staples ripped open. GROSS
Smoked it up at Devin the Dude.
Smoked it up at Wavves - a band I much prefer live than on CD
Ariel Pink was great!
Then Os Mutantes :)
Saw a little bit of The Gories and then sat down and ate some magical mushroom pizza and saw Cap'n Jazz
Got pretty close for Man Man
They were GREAT!
While Dirty Projectors were playing on the opposite stage, we made our way to the front for MGMT. We got pretty close, maybe about 3rd row center, buuuut I ate too many mushrooms and fainted. So I was dragged out of the crowd and I enjoyed the show from a far. Sorry April! haha
MGMT was super great though
We walked over the the Mohawk afterwards to catch the Joan of Arc and Deakin show. Joan of Arc was really good and Deakin was INCREDIBLE. One of those bands that makes you think while they're playing, "This may be the best thing I've EVER heard!" I was just floored.
Went to Kirby Lane afterwards for some pumpkin pancakes and a soy chai. What a great way to end the evening!
Sunday:
Got to the fest early to catch Indian Jewelry
Love love love them.
Caught Deakin again
Incredible again
Caught a bit of Toro Y Moi
They're pretty good, I had seen them before opening up for Caribou
Got a WAFFLE TACO ( oh man) and enjoyed a mushroom and nutella sandwich (yes, I don't ever learn my lesson) while watching The Cults
Got a good spot for Best Coast - another band I much prefer live than on CD
While Polvo was playing on the opposing stage, we got real close for Deerhunter... oh man, I think they're kicking in...
Deerhunter was sooo great!
Overall I had an amazing experience. Best FFFFest so far. Great music. Great drugs. Great people. Now all we need is better beer next time :)
