A drug induced coma

That is what my 4th of July will consist of. Gimme the remote control & pass the Norco please!

About 4-5 months ago I found out, through a routine dental check up, that the jackass of a dentist I went to at Castle Dental 6 years ago LEFT A FILE IN MY TOOTH when he did my root canal!!!

I'm sure right about now you're all thinking, "Excuse me... what the fuck???" Yeah. So was I. And, I Googled it... &, well.... apparently it's more common than one would think.

So, my awesome dentist, who I love & adore, tells me about this & asks if it's bothering me & I said that it's hurt a little from time to time, but always goes away. And he says we'll need to do something about it, but if it's not causing immediate pain I could have my other little cavities filled & wait til after my surgery (I had unrelated surgery in March) to deal with this file issue. So, that's what I did.... I waited... & then, last week, it started hurting, so I made an appt for Monday (yesterday). Only, then it started hurting much worse over the weekend (why do dental emergencies ALWAYS occur after hours?), to the point that I went to the ER just so they would give me something for the pain.

And now I am scheduled for oral surgery on Friday &, in the meantime, I'm taking penicillin, ibuprofen & Norco multiple times a day & can only handle "eating" smoothies, soup, jello & yogurt because chewing or talking too much leads to teeth knocking together, which leads to excruciating pain.

Soooooooooooo........... yeah............ I don't have to go to work or school tomorrow & I intend to take my full dose of pain meds & pass the fuck out all day! Hope the rest of you have a wonderful (safe) holiday!

Oh, the smoothies I can eat whether I take the pain meds or not because I don't have to chew & risk bumping my teeth on each other. If I dope myself up enough I can actually manage a cheeseburger (which I did a few days ago), but then I end up passing out for a little while after eating it! hahaha!

Man that is crazy but at least they gave you something to help you thru the pain process, just sucks having to get that drugged up just to drink a smoothie though.
