That's one reason I stopped going to Coachella several years ago: after 2004, they kept growing the fest to ridiculous proportions and shoe-horning in as many bodies as would fit on the polo fields. It made it a whole lot less fun (for me, at least) since I really don't care for super-sized crowds.
