Ed Hall, Crust, and Pain Teens!

Next month, the new Emos location is hosting 3 bands which had some relation to the old Trance Syndicate record label (that's the label started by King Coffee, the drummer for the Butthole Surfers). Three f*cking AWESOME bands! My first concert ever had Ed Hall (and Pocket Fishermen) opening for the Butthole Surfers at the old Austin Opera House off South Congress, and I'm *really* excited to be able to catch these guys again! I've never seen the Pain Teens, but I did see Crust once at Liberty Lunch (I believe they performed in cloth diapers...?). I wish Drain was performing...

Man, Pocket Fishrmen, they sure do take me back. I miss the Opera House. I caught some great performances there - Reggae Sunsplash music festival, Pixies, Concrete Blonde, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Siouxsie & The Banshees - and don't get me started with Liberty Lunch. I miss early 90s Austin.
