Zechs Marquise-
Zechs Marquise was phenomenal live. Marfred made a few jokes about how we really didn't care about them but I think most if not all of the crowd was more than pleased to have this self appointed "appetizer" play. Next time they come through our fair town I plan on being there. In all seriousness, the Rodriguez- Lopez family has some VERY handsome genes in their DNA pool. *Swoons*
At The Drive In-
It was truly a dream come true to see these guys play and to see them play like they never stopped playing together. The sound was great. I heard no errors but fuck even if there had been any the energy was so raw between the band and the crowd that even if they had missed a note here and there no one would've been the wiser. I managed to be front row after the photographers left (about 2-3 songs into the set). I have never been so happy I'm not thin in my life! Even with my squish i could still feel the stage cutting into my hip a little. :( There were a few times i thought my knees or my wrist were about to give out from the weight of the crowd pushing on me but luckily I'm just sore and it was more than worth it! I did end up bending onto the stage for most of the show so it wouldn't be as hard on my back an b/c of it I got a ton of great video of then looking particularly rock god-y. If I ever get the converter I need and my act together I'll post it on youtube and post a link here for everyone to enjoy! My only semi complaint is Omar seemed to kinda just be chilling on the stage while everyone else was going super hard. But like I said earlier that Rodriguez- Lopez family makes super hotties so I was more than content to watch him occasionally sway in his cute yellow sweater. Maybe he was just taking it all in. I can't imagine seeing that crowd from the stage. The love, admiration, all of the years of build up and wait being released, the pure raw energy. It was simply amazing. Both 11 year old Laura and 23 yo Laura were equally blown away and about to cry for joy. I ended up getting one of the drum sticks which was kind of crazy awesome/ cherry on top of the perfect sundae type deal. I also love, love, LOVE how much Texas pride these men carry. One of the t's was a giant Texas with a few stars and some lines (I'm guessing they're strings) in a bigger circle. Also pictured is the previously mentioned drum stick and a mini poster from the show. I hope the links work! I made these pics public so there shouldn't be an issue but i never use my flicker account and i might have maybe forgotten the password.

LUCKY DUCKS to all who went. I've been watching the videos of the shows. Living through you guys experience. I love that they add some lines at the end of the set with the classic Smiths song "The Joke Isn't Funny Anymore" since The Smiths are one of my all time fav's!
What worries me is that Omar isn't getting into it. Isn't he the one who said this is for only the money and didn't mean much to him.? Makes me think that they may not be around to play at Fun Fun Fun Fest in November. I hope I'm wrong and they get booked!

i saw quite a few folks that i don't "know", but kinda know, so i didn't like walk up and bug anyone... but everybody looked like there were having the best time, and that made me happy ... cept for that one poor kid in the back corner, that got too wasted and got dragged out before atdi even started .... sucked for him.
