huggin hobos and roofie-ing aggro-bros
basically, this is my life. what did you expect for me to do? sit at home and knit? I'm just not that kind of girl. So, I guess I should begin by saying that no roofie-ing actually took place, unfortunately. But I really wanted to there for a minute.
Toro y Moi has been touring with Bass Drum of Death (whom you all probably know I'm kind of obsessed with) and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Bass Drum is gritty, true rocknroll type shit, but shoot Chaz is like the Duke of Chillwave (just like Skrillex is the Prince of Dubstep :P). So when these aggro-bros were moshing during Bass Drum's set although I can totally understand, it was really harshing the mellow of the night, dig? If I had some roofies I would have considered slipping them to them, but luckily there was an extra long break between the sets and the hudmidity + the crowd acted as a natural roofie kind of, or at least, there was no moshing during Toro y Moi, although the people next to us had the distinct characteristics of those of Molly or Ecstasy. I'm going to go with Molly because they didn't seem all e-tarded. Don't even ask how I'm such an expert on this bizz.
Here is miss Ashley and I at the show:
and here is the best picture I could get of Toro y Moi:
Bass Drums' set was soo good. They've improved immensely over the year from the first time I saw them during SX, but I suppose that's to be expected when a band tours as much as they have. Toro y Moi played mostly songs from Under the Pine and it was a good set, but I really wished they had mixed in some songs from Minors because that album goes so (un)hard.
I never posted pictures from the scavvy hunt so I thought I'd go ahead and do that while I have a semblance of motivation.

Sexual Action to a Statue at Casino El Camino. (check the dudes face to the side, hilare)

Neon Indian. (luckily I keep an indian headband in my car for just such occasions)

huggin a hobo
I gotta say BtothemotherfuckinILL was so rad to have as a teammate. He had serious commitment to sparkle motion and I'm proud to announce that we're going to Star Search. Hoping to get at least three and a quarter stars.
I decided not to go to bleached tomorrow night. My homie invited me over for some homemade chicken flautas and he's a chef so I know that shit will be good and I'm just like super super tired.
My excitement grows everyday for funfunfunfest. Seriously, so beyond stoked.
And lastly, here's a picture I took on my way home from Austin today and totally mimics my sentiments of having to leave the city (even though I only live 45 minutes away)
