Katy Goodman is the queen
So this coming up weekend is ACL. I'm not going except for Sunday, because that's the only day that has bands that I actually want to see and have not seen. Plus if I missed tennis, I'd lose my fan girl status super quick.
I am doing a couple of after shows, though. This Friday I'm going to shitty ass emo's east to see Metric/Polica. Very very stoked to see Polica again after loving them live at SX. Then Sunday, I'm missing my chances to see the love of my life KATY FUCKING GOODMAN for free brought to you by Transmission because I really can't miss a chance to see The Weeknd. I don't care what you say, the weeknd is sexy fucking music.
Then Sunday will go to ACL all day. and then and then and then I'm going to Houston Monday because I can not and will not miss seeing La Sera and I just wasn't going to take the risk of having to fight for entry on a free show. So yeah, I love Kickball Katy so much that I bought tickets to see La Sera open for Father John Misty at the House of Blues in Houston on Monday.
Which also means that I get to see my beautiful sexy friend Andrea, who I just happened to meet thanks to this awesome website that we're on right on. So who knows, guys, you may just make a great friend from here.
(Just a disclaimer, not everyone I've met from here has been great, some people pretend to be great, but really just suck, but Andrea, is indeed great.)
I took my daughter to this pumpkin patch farm place yesterday out in Marble Falls. It was a lot of fun. My best friend, sister, her girlfriend, and my good friend who has a daughter 8 weeks younger than my daughter all went together. The kids did this bouncey thing, and fed goats, painted a pumpkin, got her face painted like a kitty, we all picked awesome wild flowers, and my roomie/best friend picked out five amazing/weird pumpkins to display outside our front door.
One of them is called a lunch lady pumpkin. Its longer/taller but not as squatty as most pumpkins and has this little nodules on it. Another one is squished down almost like a donut or saturn peach and is called a fairy tale pumpkin.
I wish I had a lot more space so I could just put pumpkins everywhere. I also thought it would be cool to get glitter spray and spray the outside of them with glitter.

hey i'm just realizing we might also be able to make the friends show after all. the last thing i wanna see at acl sunday is crystal castles. they end at 8:30, and doors for the friends show isn't until 9. could happen :)

That Metric/Polica show should be pretty awesome. Reading your story made me remember how much I used to enjoy getting our annual jack-o-lantern pumpkin from one of those patches: picking one up in the store just doesn't have the same vibe, nowadays.

Last year I traded ACL for Funfunfun and I don't regret it but am sad I'm going to miss out on some of the bands this year. You will have to let us know how it is on Sunday. I wonder how ACL will change with the two weekend set up.
