totally got kicked out of emo's for booze
so my buddy and i go to emo's to see little scream and antlers last week. it's hot as balls out and even though the show is outside that means everyone is literally dripping sweat within ten minutes of arriving. we were super glad we didn't ride our bikes because we ended up tired just walking four blocks to the venue. we get in, little scream hasn't started and neither of us had a chance to listen to them before hand. they were really good, though i was hella confused that the chick was wearing a hood (like she took it off her winter coat and decided it would work great for a hat when it's 100 outside). we got drinks from the bar and watched from a little ways back.
i'd already seent antlers last year at funfest and also when they played a mohawk the night before fest started. i love the vibe they have and it's just a great fucking show. we get drinks before we head up close to the stage and i'm leaning against the speakers just soaking in all that beautiful music. my buddy finishes her drink and pulls out her flask for a nip of some rum and passes it to me. i have some and hand it back right when the way-too-excited-about-his-job bouncer grabs us and escorts us out. we're cracking up the whole time because it's so silly and they only had two songs left anyway. so we listened to the rest of the show from outside, staring down the guy the whole time. it was actually way more comfortable outside anyway. and i'm gonna start taking a flask everywhere now because it's a great excuse when you're wanting to get away from someone. "oh, sorry, got kicked out, peace out!"
i like that they pat you down and search your stuff at funfest. then they sell flasks at one of the stands. hmmmmm
