Adam Ant last night
I got the chance to see Adam Ant and The Good, The Mad, and The Lovely Posse last night at Emo's East. Wow! I'd been waiting since I was 14 years old to see him again(last time was 16 years ago(!). He did not disappoint. I was worried with all the stories of him going crazy and throwing shit through bar windows and attacking people, but apparently they've got him on good medication now because he was definitely on his "A" game!
I dressed up in my award winning(Halloween 2010) costume as Adam Ant and attracted just about the amount of attention I'd thought was imminent. I really just dressed up because it's fun, but I ended up taking pictures with probably 40 to 50 different people because they knew they wouldn't get close enough to the real deal to get a picture so they settle for the 80s version. I was dressed in the complete "Stand And Deliver" outfit, and had a blast. He even saw me from the stage and nodded and smiled at me and then a couple more times after that!
Adam ended up going straight to the hotel for a massage after the show so I didn't get to meet him though I did get a wave before he hopped in the car. I was going to go straight home but as I made my way across the parking lot I heard "Hey! You there!" and turned to see the bass player from Adam's band. I walked over and he invited me to walk WITH the band to the afterparty! They are all very sweet and said that Adam was in fact very impressed with my costume. I'm glad to hear that, I worked hard on the sonofabitch.
The new album comes out January 21st, go get it! Also, see him in concert because the band says they will tour behind it.

SO RAD!!! He brought his A game in Dallas, too! Blew my mind and made me want to get all bitey. He's still got it after all these years and I am super proud of him for pulling through all that though shit. He looks great. Healthy and sound.

Glad you got your usual moments in the spotlight, too!
