I picked this up the day at half price books. Its called special topics in calamity physics ... by marisha pessl. Hadn't heard of her before but the book is fun. Eaxh chapter is named after a famous novel and chronicles some crazy event in the protagonist s life.

You should read the Collector by John Fowles. It's a great book. It's pretty twisted too. I read it for the first time ten years ago and I still feel a little bit dirty each time I read it.

If you do read that, you'll want something a little more lighthearted to follow up with. I'd suggest Ubik by Philip K. Dick- plus that way you can already have read it when Micheal Gondry finishes his adaptation of it for the big screen. I really love Philip K. Dick.

Moon Palace by Paul Auster is a good read- my buddy Keith got me into him a few years back. I also liked his book Mr. Vertigo.

Ever read Richard Brautigan? Trout Fishing In America & In Watermelon Sugar are great reads. His whole library is pretty great too. My absolute favorite of his books is The Abortion.
