College?!?
To stay or not to stay? That is the question. I love art and I love what I do in college in general. I just feel so burned out lately. Why do I have to take these classes that have nothing to do with art. It seems utterly pointless. Are there colleges that don't make you take English, Math etc.?

I had a difficult time the first few years of college (all the basics that don't exactly relate to art), but once you get past those, you can pretty much take as much art as you want. I haven't gone on to grad school because I've realized art isn't what I want to do for the rest of my life, but it took graduating and fooling around for a year or so to realize it. So really what I'm saying is, it wasn't worth it for me, but if you can handle grad school, it can definitely be good for you. Just make a lot of friends (especially your teachers), and doors will open. I've seen it happen with every one of our grad students.

Probably already came up in the discussion, but my suggestion is that a college degree in art won't do you much. So I've heard. So I've read. Maybe you still want the experience, and maybe you just really want a structured method of learning. You could always be an autodidact and try getting work doing art or something art-related. Whatever you choose to do, there will always be a time when work needs to be done to live an optimally healthy life.
